Head to my profile for the full album This is the twelfth track from Meat Loaf's album 'Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose' Come with me and bless the night Let the darkness be your salvation Curse the day - escape the light Break the chains of imagination Come with me and seize the night Nows the time for some inspiration Leave the day and loose the light No taboos only new sensations... In the shadows of the city A hero's waiting for the call And all the angels waking up And all the devils start to fall In the shadows of the city They're dying for a thrill They're going out over the edge They're moving in for the kill You gotta curse the day: it's nothing but a merciless light So open up your arms and then you get down on your knees You suck in all the darkness and you're ready now to seize Seize the night Seize the night Dies irae, Kyrie! Libera me, Domine! Dies irae, Kyrie! Requiem da, Domine! Dies irae, Kyrie! Libera me, Domine! Dies irae, Kyrie! Requiem da, Domine! [etc.] Dies irae, Kyrie! Sanctus, Sanctus exultate! Bless the night, before it has the chance to pass Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last Bless the night, before it has the chance to pass Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last Bless the night, before it has the chance to pass Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last... Let your dreams out of their cages Every passion and desire Let your visions be outrageous Set your fantasies on fire Everything will be permitted There'll be nothing left to fear I got the magic in your body Your inhibitions disappear You gotta curse the day: it's nothing but a merciless light So open up your arms and then you get down on your knees You suck in all the darkness and you're ready now to seize Seize the night Seize the night Dies irae, Kyrie! Libera me, Domine! Dies irae, Kyrie! Requiem da, Domine! Dies irae, Kyrie! Libera me, Domine! Dies irae, Kyrie! Requiem da, Domine! [etc.] Bless the night, before it has the chance to pass Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last Bless the night, memories collide to change the past Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last Carpe Noctem... Carpe Noctem... Bless the night, before it has the chance to pass Seize the night, you do what it takes to make it last... Dies irae, Kyrie! Requiem da, Domine! Dies irae, Kyrie! Sanctus, Sanctus exultate!.. Come with me and bless the night Let the darkness be your salvation Curse the day - escape the light Break the chains of imagination Come with me and seize the night Nows the time for some inspiration Leave the day and loose the light No taboos only new sensations... Mar 4, 2013 - Actually, according to Meat Loaf's and Jim Steinman's lyrics, hell sounds like a pretty rocking place. Maybe those 3 people will end up in Utah for all eternity.

Feb 10, 2013 - I love the song, but I kind of dislike the lyrics. I think that in Tanz the lyrics were more fitting to the song. "All the Angels are waking up"? Please!...

Aug 10, 2012 - According to certain texts, you will certainly go to hell for liking Meatloaf. See you all there! Make sure to save me a seat at the table and deal me a hand when I get there.

Jul 24, 2012 - I don't know why this is not one of Meat Loafs well known songs. It should be though like Bat and Paradise. Infact I think this is actually the best song he's ever done and the 4th longest as well. Bat out of Hell is 3rd being only 4 seconds longer than this. Objects is second at 10:14 and I'd Do Anything for Love is Meat Loafs longest song at 12 minutes.

I am 35 years old he is one of my favorite singers of all time I will keep listening to him. Ppl need to sit down and really listen to his other songs before they judge him for who he is and his songs.

Oct 28, 2011 - My favorite line in Meat Loaf's version is "Bless the night - Memories can lie to change the past" because it makes it kind of a traditional theme of "Bat" songs. No other version of Carpe Noctem has that lyric.

Jul 8, 2011 - All the parts where no words are sung (Intro, 2:23-3:16, ect...), sound like they could be used in some epic videogame boss battle. NOT AT ALL SAYING THE OTHER PARTS ARE GOOD, THE WHOLE SONG IS EXCELLENT, though i do like the guitar part at 5:12-5:26.

Mar 10, 2011 - I wonder if that one melody is intentionally reminiscent of Good Girls Go To Heaven, Bad Girls Go Everywhere...

Jan 21, 2011 - I am only 22, and am new to Meat Loaf. I usually listen to bands like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Dio, etc. I have to say, I am pretty impressed with this so far. I will definitely be checking out more by Meat Loaf.
