Jul 9, 2012 - The reason the voters vote the way they do is from ignorance more than anything (that applies to democrats and republicans). Educators weren't the only ones that got hurt. All public servants are hurting. To give an example, in my town the Public Works department isn't allowed to work more than 40 hours a week. So when we have a harsh snowfall on the weekend? I guess the citizens will just have to make do with two feet of snow on the road.

Jul 1, 2012 - There's a bit of a paradox here. On one hand, it's probably going to be superior to single-payer models. On the other hand, the Supreme Court erred - it's blatantly unconstitutional, whereas single-payer, at least in principle, wouldn't be. I'm personally against either one, but I suppose if I had to choose... well, it's a choice between what would be least worst, and what would be illegal under the Constitution. It's pretty much no-win.

But even more I would rather have our tax money not be spent killing civilians over seas and not to have our tax money spent forcing everyone in the US to have healthcare. Universal Healthcare is like Universal bailouts for banks, people that couldn't afford healthcare due to their drug abuse and other bad habits will take more risks knowing that healthcare will be free, just like banks take more risks knowing they will be bailed out by the government.
