Apr 30, 2013 - This reminds me of blue grass music, the music i grew up on thats considered country music here. It is sad that it is fading away here in Ohio and WV with a new generation

Apr 27, 2013 - Might be related to who occupated whom... You'll find the same on Poland/Germany- and the Poland/Russia-topics. It's a quite normal effect of history... The occupated nation's memory is usually more perserverative than the occupator's. Depending on duration and harshness of the occupation this can well make up to four, five generations.

Dec 9, 2012 - Check out Dirty Old Town written by an English folk singer Ewan Maccoll about an English town-Salford. The Dublinners covered several of his-Song Of The Iron Road & The Lag Song are 2 that spring to mind. Even songs such as Come & Fight Ye BlacknTans (& many other nationalist rebel songs) were written to the tunes of British folk songs the Irish heard the soldiers singing. I guess the idea wasown tunes. fuckin great musiq

Oct 18, 2012 - Even though I'm an Irish Man Utd fan, all my encounters with Scousers have been positive, they're a friendly bunch, very funny and from my experience easy to get along with. We jeered each other about football and stuff but I say again, any Scousers that I've met have been nice folk, and they all seemed to have the Irish mentality of having fun and making sure everyone was OK. To me that makes them good folk, I'm sorry you had a bad experience with them :(

Kath Ropele Says:

Sep 30, 2012 - I was born and raised in Liverpool. I left for North America in 1977. We used to sing this song in the Abercrombie Pub every Saturday night in the 60's. Most Liverpudlians have some Irish in them. Many Irish stopped off in Liverpool during the mass immigration to the USA. I was raised in the house that my great grandparents first went to, after leaving Cork. It remained in our family for over 70 years. So, despite them not making it to America, back then, I continued their journey for them.
